AEON Mall Shah Alam is running three overlapping September calendars at once, and they do not all end on the same day. Mid-Autumn gift redemption stays up until 25 September. The leftover Merdeka food contests and the Hock Kee keychain close on 16 September. Then the mall becomes the main stage for AEON's 42nd-anniversary kimono gathering on Saturday, 26 September, with Japanese experiential booths from 22 September to 4 October.
The mall sits at No. 1, Jalan Akuatik 13/64, Section 13, a short walk from LRT3 Stadium Shah Alam. Hours are 10am to 10pm Sunday to Thursday, and 10am to 10.30pm Friday, Saturday and eves of public holidays. If you are stacking a Para SUKMA session at UiTM with a mall stop, this is the indoor option that does not care about the IPU.
Mooncake receipts until 25 September
The mall's own Mid-Autumn page is still live. Spend RM400 in a maximum of three same-day receipts if you are an AEON member or UOB cardmember, or RM600 if you are neither, and redeem the limited-edition Mid-Autumn premium gift at the Information Counter on the first floor. The window opened 23 July and ends 25 September. Stocks are finite. Go on a weekday morning if you actually want the tin, not a photo of an empty counter.
This is a tenant-plus-AEON-retail spend, not a supermarket-only spend. Keep the receipts in one clip. The counter will not hunt through your phone gallery.
The leftover Merdeka redemptions close 16 September
Three August campaigns were given a September tail and they all die on the 16th.
- Hock Kee Exclusive Kopitiam Bestie Keychain. Same-day receipts: F&B RM50 for AEON members, RM80 for non-members. Non-F&B RM150 members, RM200 non-members. Hock Kee Kopitiam is on the ground floor at lot G66, one of the new F&B names from the mall's late-2025 refresh.
- Satu Hati Pelbagai Rasa contest. Photograph a local dish from a mall tenant, post it with #AEONMALLMERDEKA2026, and three winners split RM690 in AEON gift vouchers.
- Tapau Your Local Food Picnic, Merdeka edition. A picnic-style food activation using tenant takeaway. Treat it as a family lunch plan, not a concert.
Kids Republic's branded kids and baby clearance in AEON Hall on the fourth floor was billed 25 August to 6 September, so 6 September is the last advertised day. Do not plan a 7 September raid.
Kimono Saturday, then two weeks of Japanese booths
Focus Malaysia's 4 September report on AEON Co. (M) Bhd's 42nd anniversary puts AEON Mall Shah Alam as the main gathering point for a nationwide kimono day on 26 September. Twenty-seven AEON malls take part. The Shah Alam Facebook post calls it a Malaysia Book of Records attempt for the largest simultaneous participation wearing traditional Japanese attire. Come in kimono or yukata. The first 600 people in Japanese attire at this mall get a Japanese knit bag. Other malls cap that gift at the first 100. Poh Kong, which already has a store here at lot F35, is sponsoring a best-dressed contest and a lucky draw.
Japanese experiential booths then sit in this mall from 22 September to 4 October. Focus Malaysia lists kimono rental, fish scooping and Japanese workshops, plus Japanese food and merchandise. Tebrau City and Taiping got earlier slots. Shah Alam's slot is the late-September one, which lines up with the 26 September gathering. If you want the costume without owning one, rent on the booth days, not on the record-attempt morning when the atrium will be packed.
Uniqlo at G39, Daiso, Megane Samurai Japan, Maruki Ramen at G65 and Genki Sushi at G63 are already in the directory if you want a Japanese retail loop after the booths. That is a floor plan, not a festival programme.
